What are informers in the menu

These are small widgets that sit in the menu alongside items: logo, language switcher, city selector, theme toggle.

An informer takes the place of a menu item but doesn't lead to a page — it shows a control. In the site structure they look like regular items — you can tell by the address: it starts with a hash (#logo, #theme), because an informer has no page of its own.

What's available in the engine: logo with project name, language switcher, city selector, light/dark theme toggle, user greeting, custom link, custom text.

An informer is moved and styled like a regular item: by dragging in the structure, via the “Orientation” field — menu column and tier, via the gear icon — appearance. Its own parameters (e.g., the logo image) live behind the “Module settings” button in the informer window.

If it didn't work

  • The informer disappeared from the menu. Check “Access level”: it works for informers the same as for sections.
  • The language switcher isn't showing. It only appears when at least a second language is enabled on the site.
