How to add a menu link to an existing page or another site
← BackThe “Link” informer leads anywhere: to a page that is already in the menu, to an external site, an email or a phone number. The address is set in its settings.
- Add a menu item where you need it. “Name *” is the menu label.
- In “URL (alias)” enter an internal address with a hash sign, for example
#link-footer. Each such link must have its own. - In the “Module” field, click “Select” → “Informers” and choose the “Link” card (code
informer_link). Save. - Open the item again and click “Module settings”:
- “Link address” —
/about,https://…,mailto:…ortel:…; - “Link text” — if empty, the item name is used;
- “Hover tooltip”;
- “Open in a new tab”;
- “Block from indexing (nofollow)”.
- “Link address” —
- Save.
Why you need this: you can’t create a regular menu item with the same address — section addresses are unique. But you can have as many informer links to one page as you like, for example in both the header and the footer.
The link looks and is styled like a regular item: icon, gear, orientation. When a visitor is on that page, the item is highlighted as active. Addresses of your own site in another language automatically get the language prefix.
If it didn’t work
- The item has the note “— not configured”. The “Link address” is not filled in. Visitors don’t see such an item at all.
- The item won’t save because of the address. The internal address with a hash sign is repeated — two sections cannot share one address. Give this link a different one.
