How to set up an object page
← BackThe object page is built with the mouse: elements are dragged between columns, the eye hides them, the pencil configures them; the layout is either shared by all objects or unique to one.
- Open an object on the site — click its tile. An administrator sees a settings panel above the page.
- In the "Display layout:" list, choose what you are editing: "Shared by all objects" or "This object only".
- Hover over an element: drag it to another column by the handle, hide it with the eye, open "Element settings" with the pencil — label, "Width within column", "Do not show to visitor". The gear at the top left is for styling.
- A new column is created by dropping an element into the "Drop here to create a column on the left" zone (or on the right). Drag a column's right edge to adjust its width; a double click restores the default width.
What you can add. The "Add field" button creates your own field — the same types as in forms, except the calculator and the dependent list. The same type list has a "Object data" group: "Object name", "Object image", "Object short description", "Object gallery", "Breadcrumbs", "Other objects in the section", "Recommended objects". The "Ready-made fields" group has "Add to cart" button. The name is hidden by default: it is already in the page heading.
Prices. Properties with a single value are displayed as a "label — value" pair; properties with several values form a price table. Above it is the "View:" switcher — "Table" or "Order form", and "Show price:" — "per run" or "per unit", if there is a "Run" property. The visitor clicks a price in the table — that option is highlighted, and the "Add to cart" button will add exactly that one.
An object's own layout completely replaces the shared one. "Revert to shared" deletes it. "Download layout" and "Upload layout" transfer the layout as a file. The object's content — name, image, properties — is edited with the "Edit object" button.
If it didn't work
- The visitor sees something different from what I configured. The panel says "This object has its own layout…" — you are editing the shared one, but the object's own is displayed. Switch the list to "This object only" or click "Revert to shared".
- An element disappeared. A hidden element is visible to the administrator as faded with a dashed border — bring it back with the eye.
- "This object has no properties or prices added yet". Fill in the object in the "Object management" section.
