Object properties and price matrix

← Back

Properties are the characteristics of choice (material, size, quantity); the price is set at the intersection of their values.

A property is what the visitor chooses from: material, format, quantity. A property has values, and the price is calculated not "per object" but per combination of values.

  1. Open the object in "Object management" and click "New property".
  2. Either select a ready one from the list "Select existing property" — so that identical characteristics don't spread across the site in three spellings — or enter "Property name *".
  3. Add values: "New value" for your own, "Add selected value" — to take from existing ones.
  4. Use the arrows and to arrange properties and values in the order the visitor should see them.

When there are several properties, the price table becomes a matrix: rows are values of one property, columns are another, and the price is in the cell at their intersection. An empty cell means that such a combination is not for sale.

If it didn't work

  • The price table has dashes everywhere. This usually means that properties were added after filling in prices: the set of cells changed, and prices need to be set again.
  • A property with one value takes up a whole column. Properties with a single value do not participate in the matrix — they are shown as a regular object characteristic.
  • You deleted a property and prices disappeared. That's right: deleting a property removes all its values, and with them the prices of combinations. Before deleting, you should make a backup.
