How to set a password for a user who cannot log in
← BackIn the user list, click "Change password" in the needed row, enter or generate a password and pass it on to the person.
- Open “General settings” → the “Users” tab.
- Find the person via “User search” and click “Change password” in their row.
- Enter a “New password” and “Password confirmation” — at least 6 characters. You can click the generate button: a 10-character password will appear in plain text, which is convenient to copy.
- If you want the person to choose their own password, check “Ask to change password at next login”.
- Click “Save password” and give the password to the user in a convenient way.
No email is sent to the user in this case — you provide the password yourself. If the person's email works, it's easier to send them to the “Forgot password?” page: a temporary password will arrive on its own.
The password is changed only on this site: accounts on different sites are independent.
If it didn't work
- “Passwords do not match” or “minimum 6 characters.” The password wasn't saved — open the window again and re-enter it.
- The row has no “Change password” button. This is the platform's support service account; only the owner can change its password.
