How to create your own tile look in the catalog

← Back

A preview template is a hidden section with the HTML code of the card. Choose it in the «Object preview template» field of sections, and editing the template will change all of them.

  1. Create a section and set its «Access level» to «Nobody. Can navigate to it.» or «Nobody. Block access.».
  2. Click «Edit section text», switch the editor to «HTML» and paste the card code. The part between <!-- ITEM_START --> and <!-- ITEM_END --> is repeated for each object. Save.
  3. In a section with objects, choose this template in the «Object preview template» field — in the «Site templates» group.
  4. After that, edit it with the «Edit» button next to the list: a code editor with tag buttons will open.

Tags. Clicking a tag inserts it where the cursor is: <:NAME:>, <:IMAGE:>, <:URL:>, <:PRICE:>, <:CART_BUTTON:>, <:PROP:Name:> — the value of any property, the condition <!-- IF_PROP:… -->. Each tag has a tooltip on hover. <:ADD_OBJECT_CARD:> after ITEM_END brings back the «Add object» card for the administrator. Ctrl+S saves; on pages, changes are visible after a refresh.

For all at once. One template can be chosen for any number of sections, and an edit to it changes all of them. This is how you should maintain a uniform catalog look: one template for all storefronts.

Global templates are shared by all sites of the platform. You can choose them and view the code with the eye icon (the «Copy» button is in the window), but not edit them. If you need a similar one of your own, copy the code into a template of your site and change it.

Tile size. A new object gets the size and styling of the last object in the same section. To adjust all tiles at once, drag the size handle while holding Ctrl.

If it didn't work

  • The template is not in the list. The section must be in HTML mode and have «Nobody» access. Open its text, switch to «HTML» and save.
  • The gear, frames and tile styles disappeared. The template has no block style tags — insert the tags with :product: from the editor.
  • I don't see the «Edit» button. A global template is selected — only the platform can edit it.
