How to change the order of items and move an item to another part of the menu

Order — by dragging in the structure tree or directly in the site menu, the part of the menu — with the “Orientation” field in the section window.

Order. Open “Site structure” and drag an item by its handle to the desired place. The same can be done right on the site: logged in as an administrator, hover over a menu item and drag it by the ⣿ handle. The order is saved immediately.

Part of the menu. Open the item and choose “Orientation”: column (left, center, right) and tier (top, middle, bottom) — nine combinations. The bottom ones are usually used for the footer.

If it didn’t work

  • After saving, the item moved to another column on its own. This is how sections behaved whose database record still had the old single-word orientation. This has been fixed: choose the desired value in the list and save again — it will hold from then on.
  • The item cannot be dragged. You need to drag by the handle, not by the label. In the structure tree, an item that is alone on its level has no handle — there is nothing to swap it with.
