What does "Access level" mean for a section
← BackSix values: from "Everyone" to two different "Nobody" — one hides the item from the menu, the other closes the page entirely.
The "Access level" field in the section window controls two things at once: whether the item is visible in the menu and whether the page opens.
- Everyone — a regular public page. Only these are included in the sitemap and search results.
- Registered users only — guests are redirected to the login page.
- Guests only — for pages like login and registration: logged-in users don't need them.
- Administrators only — service sections.
- Nobody. Can navigate. — no menu item, but the page opens via direct link. This is how service pages like password recovery and pages you link to yourself work.
- Nobody. Close access. — the page is neither in the menu nor accessible via link: the visitor gets a 404.
An administrator sees any section regardless of access level — otherwise service pages couldn't be edited.
If it didn't work
- You deleted a system section, but it remained. System sections are not deleted but hidden: they are set to "Nobody. Can navigate.". This is intentional — the engine relies on them.
- The page is closed but still in search. Search engines need time to re-crawl the site. The section is removed from the sitemap immediately.
