How to create a site from a ready-made template

← Back

In the creation form, choose a card in the “Site template” block — the new site will immediately get the sample’s sections, menu, design, products, and images.

  1. Open the site creation page and fill in "Site address", "Project name" and "Short description".
  2. In the "Site template" block, choose a card. "Empty site" contains only the engine's starter sections; the other cards are ready-made sample sites with a name and description.
  3. Click "Create". If you are not signed in, enter your e-mail and click "Create site" — a temporary password will be sent to your mailbox.
  4. At the "Site created!" step you will see the line "Site deployed from template…" and the "Open site" button.

Everything from the sample's content is carried over from the template: sections, menus, block styles, products, images and files. The sample's users, orders, payments and mailboxes are not transferred — on the new site you are the only administrator.

Language. The "Base language" field has no effect on a site created from a template: the base language remains that of the template, since its texts are already written in it. You can change the language later on the "Site languages" tab.

If there is no "Site template" block, then no templates have been set up on this platform and an empty site is created. On some platforms (for example, the form builder) there is no empty site at all: you can only choose from templates, and the first one is selected right away.

The site already exists. You can replace its content with a template in the backup section, in the "Deploy site from template" card, using the "Deploy" button next to the template you need. All of the site's content will be completely replaced; accounts, finances and mail will remain. A safety copy is saved before the replacement — you can roll back in the "Safety copies" block.

If it didn't work

  • "This template is unavailable." The template was hidden while the page was open. Refresh the page and choose another one.
  • The message "To create a site, sign in or register." Pricing plans are enabled on the platform — a site can only be created from an account.
  • The texts on the site are in the wrong language. This is the template's language. Enable the language you need on the "Site languages" tab and start the translation.
