How to send a file, reply with a quote or forward a message in the internal chat

← Back

Files — with the paperclip, by dragging, or Ctrl+V. Right-clicking a message (or ⋮, or a long press on a phone) opens a menu: reply, forward, edit, delete.

  1. Files. Click the paperclip to the left of the field, drag files into the open conversation, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V. They will appear above the field; the cross removes an unwanted one. Writing text is optional.
  2. Message menu. Right-click the message, click ⋮ next to it, or on a phone hold your finger on it for half a second.
  3. Choose an action:
    • Reply — “Replying to name” appears above the field, and the sent message will contain a quote; clicking the quote scrolls to the original;
    • Forward — choose a conversation or find a person;
    • Copy text, link or image, Save image or Download file;
    • Edit and Delete — only for your own messages;
    • Send a private message — in the general chat, for other people's messages.

Images are shown right in the feed, and clicking opens them full screen. Other files appear as a line with a download link. Up to 10 files at a time, each up to 10 MB.

Keys: Enter — send, ↑ in an empty field — edit your last message, Esc — cancel a reply or edit. Shift + right-click — the regular browser menu.

An edited message is marked “edited”, and the other person sees the new text. A forwarded message is marked “Forwarded from name”.

If it didn't work

  • Ctrl+V pasted text instead of an image. If the clipboard also contains text (an Excel cell, a Word paragraph), the text is pasted. Only a screenshot or an image copied in the browser is sent as an image.
  • No “Copy image” option. The browser can't put images on the clipboard — save it via “Save image”.
  • “Files are too large for one message — send them in parts.” Send the files in several messages.
