How to connect Telegram, WhatsApp and MAX to multichat

These messengers are connected via QR code: connection name → "Сохранить" → "Подключить по QR" → scan the code with your phone.

  1. In multichat, click «Добавить канал» and choose Telegram, WhatsApp or MAX. Telegram can also be opened from «Настройки» (the gear at the bottom of the folder column).
  2. Click «Новое подключение» and enter the «Название подключения» — for example, "Work Telegram". It is needed only for you, to tell accounts apart.
  3. Click «Сохранить», then «Подключить по QR».
  4. On your phone, open the messenger with the work account, find the option to link a new device in its settings and scan the code from the screen.
  5. If the account has a two-step authentication password (two-factor for MAX), a field for it will appear — enter it and click «Продолжить».

Multichat connects as one more device of your account, and your phone keeps working as before. Replies sent from the phone will also appear in the conversation.

Multichat receives personal dialogs. Telegram groups and channels and MAX group chats are not shown there.

Messengers do not pass on the interlocutor's phone number. In WhatsApp the number is visible only for chats addressed by number; in the others, only the name.

If it didn't work

  • WhatsApp says "The QR code has expired — click "Подключить" again". Click "Подключить по QR" again and scan right away — the code is short-lived.
  • After scanning, it stays on "Connecting to WhatsApp…" for a long time. This is normal: WhatsApp reconnects after scanning. Wait a minute without closing the window.
  • The message "didn't arrive". Check the "В работе" folder: a new message from the same person is appended to their open conversation rather than creating a new one.
