How to show the number of unread messages in the menu
← BackAdd an item with the informer_multichat module to the structure — the menu will show an icon with a red count of unread conversations that leads to the multichat.
- Open “Site structure” and add a section with the
informer_multichatmodule. - Choose an “Icon” for it — without one, the menu will only show a red dot when there are unread messages.
- In the “Module settings” window, optionally fill in the “Label next to the icon” and the “Multichat page address” (leave empty — the section with the multichat module).
- If you also use the internal staff chat, check “Don't count “Organization chat”” — it has its own informer, so one message won't light up in two places.
The number shows how many conversations are unread by the current employee, i.e. the sum of the badges on the multichat folders excluding Trash. Folders with “Don't show unread count” are not counted. It updates automatically every thirty seconds. The informer is not visible to guests.
There is a similar informer for the internal chat — the informer_chat module.
If it didn't work
- The icon isn't visible in the header on a phone. On phones, top menu informers move into the “hamburger” menu — look for it there.
- The number doesn't match the multichat. If there are several multichat sections, specify the address of the one you need: the informer counts based on that section's set of channels.
