How to connect email to the multichat

1. Open “Settings” (the gear at the bottom of the folder column) → “Email settings” and click “Add account”.
2. In the “Email service” field, select Yandex, Mail.ru, Gmail or Outlook — the servers will be filled in. For other email, select “Other / manual” and enter the “IMAP server” (incoming) and “SMTP server” (sending replies) with ports.
3. Fill in “Email”, “Login” and “App password”. This is not your regular email password: for Yandex, Mail.ru and Gmail it is created separately in the mailbox security settings.
4. Click “Check”, then “Save”.

New emails arrive in the multichat's “Inbox”, and replies are sent from the same mailbox. Formatted emails are displayed as in an email client: images inside the email are in place, the sender's scripts are removed.

The signature for all emails is set in “Settings” → “Rules”, in the “Email signature” field.

On the first connection, the latest emails of the mailbox are fetched, not the whole archive.

If it didn't work

• The client received a reply from a different address. This happens when “Login” and “Email” differ (for example, a Gmail mailbox sends on behalf of another address). The multichat sets “Email” as the reply address, but it is more reliable to add this address in the Gmail settings as an additional sender address.
• The client's reply didn't appear in the “Inbox” folder. An email with the same subject is appended to the previous conversation, even if it is in the “Done” or “Trash” folder. Search by address.
• “Check” shows a login error. Most likely, a regular password was entered instead of an app password, or IMAP access is disabled in the mailbox.
