How to enable the cart and the "Add to cart" button

← Back

Add the ready-made "Add to cart" button field to an object, place the cart informer in the menu, and specify the cart page address in it.

  1. Make sure the object has a price: in the price matrix, or as a "Cost" / "Price" property with a number. It is better to set the "Unit of measurement" "₽" for a price property.
  2. Open the object page on the site, click "Add field", and in the "Field type" list, in the "Ready-made fields" group, choose "Add to cart button". Save. This is an ordinary button: it can be renamed, moved, and deleted.
  3. Create the cart page — a section with the forms module and the "Products in cart" field. For details, see the article on checkout.
  4. Add a menu item with the informer_cart module. In its "Module settings" window, fill in the "Cart page address", for example /korzina, and, if desired, the "Button text": the 🛒 icon can be replaced, a word can be added to it, or it can be removed — then only the number of products stays on the button.

Clicking "Add to cart" again for the same product increases the quantity. Different variants of one object (for example, different paper) are separate lines with their own price. The price put into the cart is the one shown on the page at the moment of clicking.

The cart is stored in the visitor's browser session: it isn't visible from another device, and it empties when the session ends. In the section's preview template, the price and button are output by the tags <:PRICE:> and <:CART_BUTTON:>.

If it didn't work

  • I click "Add to cart" and nothing happens. On the object page, the button is an editing element for the administrator and doesn't add to the cart. Check from another browser or after logging out of the account.
  • The cart shows a price of 0 ₽. The price is set by a property without a number or with the unit "pcs.". Enter the price in the matrix or as a number in the "Cost" property with the unit "₽", then remove the item from the cart and add it again.
  • The cart button shows a number without a link. The "Cart page address" is not filled in the informer settings.
